Cathodic Protection for Underwater Structures

Cathodic protection (CP) is a technique used to control & protect the corrosion of a metal surface. The bathycorrometer (bathy) is used in the commercial diving world to determine the corrosion status of an immersed metal structure.

Commercial and Specialised Diving used this meter to conduct readings recently on a large pile wall in Poole harbour, one of the largest natural harbours in the world! Our clients brief involved various tasks that required a professional and experienced approach, one that Commercial and Specialised diving always provide. These tasks included cleaning, inspecting and the installation of protective anodes. This was to help ensure that the pile wall stays in good condition and is adequately protected in its entirety.

We recommend that any underwater structure should be regularly inspected and cleaned in order to maintain properly. Contact Commercial and Specialised Diving today for more information.
