ROV Inspection
This month Commercial and Specialised Diving were asked to assist with the inspection of a faulty valve located in a reservoir.
In this case it could have been extremely dangerous to send in a diver to inspect the valve as it appeared not to close fully. The lack of closure could cause a significant pressure differential, which may have sucked a diver onto the valve with such strength that they would be unable to free themselves.
Commercial and Specialised Diving evaluated the situation fully and decided that the best option was to inspect the valve with an ROV to establish any unknown issues and to ensure that our divers were not put at risk.
The ROV proved to be a great success and gave us some invaluable data that helped to safely progress the faulty valve issue to the next stage.
