Commercial and Specialised Diving pulled out all the stops this month to carry out a full re-grout on a Cornish leisure centre pool. Grouting had failed throughout the swimming pool tank base and walls – varying from 3mm to total loss – and around the finger-grip tiles.
CSD has a reputation for high-quality tile and grout work countrywide, and their experience was put to good use on this project. Working through the night, our team of HSE compliant divers cleaned the surfaces of all traces of algae growth and calcium build up before commencing the tile re-grout.
The materials used were epoxy based and especially formulated for swimming pool use. The advantages of using swimming pool recommended epoxy grout are many! It hardens quickly, gives a better seal, is more durable and less likely to de-bond. CSD used this grout in an Aldershot pool 10 years ago, and on returning to give it its annual survey were pleased to say that the grouting was as good as new.
